Two Men Killed In Shooting At Detroit Lions Game Following Loss To Bucs

After a Sunday afternoon NFL game, in which the Lions lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (20-16), a man was shot and killed at Eastern Market in Detroit, while seemingly attending a tailgate party.

According to the police, there was a large fight that broke out around 4:30 pm ET. Then after everyone scattered, two men, who apparently had unfinished business, met up again following this.

In view of the shooting, according to reports, their were two men who were about to square up and fight, after getting into an altercation, and that is when one of them pulled out the gun on the other.

Per reports, after getting struck by bullets, the victim, who was in his 40's, died at the scene. In addition, a bystander, who was in his 20's, was also hit and in critical condition before passing away Monday at the hospital.

The suspect, who is assumed to be in his 30's, is currently in police custody.

The police chief, James White, gave a statement on the tragic incident that took place.

"Ridiculous, the biggest story that should have been told is the Lions lost and some people had a fight... But, unfortunately, we've got somebody who lost their life."

White continued, "It's a beautiful day and shouldn't have led to this, but it did and we're going to do what we do well and do the investigation and get it closed out and unfortunately, you got a family now who's going to have to deal with the loss of a loved one."

Two guns were discovered at the scene, as the officers in the area arrested the shooter subsequently following the fatal shooting.

"They were able to get him into custody quickly and recover two weapons from the scene and we're kind of piecing all of that together right now, but we do know we have the shooter," White said. "No one else is at risk. No one in the community. No one in this area is at risk."
