Tyreek Hill fled Kansas City in favor of Miami because he was tired of being a side chick.

During a recent conversation with Robert Griffin III on his "RGIII and The Ones" podcast, Hill — former Kansas City Chiefs receiver who was traded to the Miami Dolphins in March 2022 — said, "Pat [Mahomes] had [Travis] Kelce and I was kind of jealous."
After RGIII and Hill cracked up at that, Hill expanded on his sentiment: "I was hurt! Patrick, you ain't never invite me over to your house like you did Kelce. You always invited Kelce. That's why we are where we're at now."
From there, RGIII noted how Hill is "for sure" the No. 1 target in Miami — which is proven by Hill currently leading the NFL with 1,324 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023.
However, Hill wasn't done lamenting his side chick status. "I've never been anybody's side chick before," he continued. "Never. My whole life — high school, middle school — [I was] all the quarterbacks' main chick. Now I go to KC and I'm the side chick. You taking me to Joe's Barbecue, but no, I don't want no barbecue. I want to go to the fancy restaurants. I want to go to Nobu!"
While Hill and Griffin III were clearly speaking in jest, it's also clear that Hill was being honest about how he felt while playing with the Chiefs.
Yet, this isn't news. Hill was traded to the Dolphins last year as a result of him requesting a trade away from Kansas City, citing a lack of targets from Mahomes as the main reason. So although Hill is able to joke now about his time in Kansas City, the lack of attention from his quarterback was clearly no laughing matter for him back then — despite them winning a Super Bowl together in 2020.
Perhaps another reason Hill can laugh about being a side chick now is because the trade clearly worked out for both parties. Hill is Tua Tagovailoa's unquestioned main chick in Miami, the Dolphins are 8-3 (as are the Chiefs), and Mahomes and Kelce won another Super Bowl last season. In addition, Kansas City used some of the draft picks they received when trading Hill to grab cornerback Trent McDuffie and wide receiver Skyy Moore, who have both been integral to the team's continued success in 2023.
The only question now is whether Mahomes is upset about being Kelce's side chick, now that his star tight end is dating Taylor Swift.
