Buffalo Bills defensive end Von Miller has just been suspended four games, after the NFL has concluded that the eight-time Pro Bowler violated the league's Personal Conduct Policy.

That is to say, Miller, 35, won't be paid until he is reinstated, which will be after the team's Week 8 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks (October 28). This suspension appears to stem from a November 2023 incident, when Miller allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend.
Notably, at the time Miller had turned himself into the police, as there was a warrant for his arrest (charge of third-degree felony assault of a pregnant woman), but he was later released on a $5,000 bond.
To point out, the case had been closed this past summer and no charges were filed, with Miller coming out and denying the allegations.
In December of 2023, Miller put out a statement on his Instagram.
"Honestly, I wasn't on social media before and definitely not on social media now. But from the things that have been brought to my attention, everything is false. And I would love to sit here and say, 'Y'all know me!' But it's not, this is not that type of situation because domestic violence really happens around the world — for men and women. And it's a serious situation so I would not pull that card... All I can say is it is just a matter of time before everything gets set straight."
Nevertheless, with that being said, the NFL did their own separate investigation and found evidence of misconduct, as an affidavit of what transpired was obtained by ESPN, which showed a detailed report of what took place.
"The allegations against Miller include him putting a hand, and later both hands, on the woman's neck for about three to five seconds, pulling her hair and trying to shove her while she was attempting to gather her things and leave after he told her to get out of the apartment where they both lived." (per ESPN)
Notably, this won't be the first time that Miller has violated league policy, as he also served a six-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs in 2013.
In 13 NFL seasons, Miller has 126.5 sacks, which ranks him 17th all-time.
Miller's next chance to take the field will come when the Bills take on the Dolphins during a Week 9 matchup (November 3).
