What you need to know about Thursday night's NFL kickoff

It should be a doozy of a rematch that looks nothing like the first contest.

The Carolina Panthers will kick off the NFL regular season against the Denver Broncos Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Or you can watch online at nbcsports.com/live.

Thursday night will be a Super Bowl rematch with many different pieces.

No Peyton Manning: Goodbye Peyton, hello Trevor Siemian. Manning rode off into the sunset (before he eventually lands in the Hall of Fame), Brock Osweiler decided he didn't want to stick around in Denver and Siemian beat out Mark Sanchez to lead the defending Super Bowl champs.

Yes, that's a guy who took one snap for a kneel down last season and has never thrown an NFL regular season pass.

Cash money Miller: After cashing in on a big-money contract, Von Miller will take the field and attempt to show he's worth every cent of rate $114.5 million deal he inked. He'll have to do that without former teammates defensive end Malik Jackson and linebacker Danny Trevathan.

Bounce back for Newton: Cam Newton did just about everything in 2015...or than win the Super Bowl. After putting together an MVP season, Newton now gets one of his top offensive weapons back in the form of wideout Kelvin Benjamin.

New look Cats: The Panthers defense will look completely different when they take the field against the Broncos. With a handful of veterans (Jared Allen, Charles Tillman and Roman Harper), as well as standout defensive back Josh Norman gone, Carolina will have an entirely different outlook.

Whether those losses can be simply replaced is yet to be seen.

It should be a doozy of a rematch that looks nothing like the first contest.
