New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes and pop singer Tate McRae have reportedly called it quits.

The high-profile couple has split after several months of dating, according to Page Six, although there apparently is some disagreement over who ended things.
A source told the outlet that Hughes, 25, broke up with McRae, 23, after he began noticing what he considered "red flags." The source added that the NHL star has already started dating other people.
Sources close to McRae, however, offered a different version, telling Page Six that the singer was the one who ended the relationship.
Either way, the romance is over.
Hughes and McRae first sparked dating rumors late last year after they were spotted together several times in New York City. McRae also attended Devils games and was seen cheering on Hughes.
The two reportedly met after Hughes reached out to McRae through social media. By March, Us Weekly reported that they had been casually dating since late 2025 and were exclusively seeing each other.
Neither ever made much of a public production out of the relationship.
Hughes is one of the NHL's biggest young stars and has spent his entire career with New Jersey after the Devils selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
McRae, meanwhile, has become one of pop music's biggest young names, with hits including "Greedy" and "Sports Car."
Representatives for Hughes and McRae did not comment to Page Six about the breakup. So while there may be two versions of exactly who dumped whom, there's no disagreement about the important part.
Hughes and McRae are officially going their separate ways.
