There's nothing like two icons within a city showing support for one another. That's precisely what happened on Saturday night when Denver Nuggets big man and reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic, stepped out onto the ice to hand the Hart Trophy over to the Colorado Avalance star, Nathan MacKinnon.

The gesture was a well-orchastrated move by both organizations. After all, the city is fortunate to have two teams that are both at the top of their respective leagues while also boasting, arguably, the best of the best in their respective sport.

MacKinnon took home the Hart Trophy, the NHL's MVP award, in the 2023-24 season following an absurd season that saw him pot a career-best 51 goals and 89 assists for 140 points. It marked his second straight season with more than 110 points.
Meanwhile, Jokic took home the NBA's coveted MVP award after averaging 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game. That marked the third time in his career he has won the award. He has won it in three of the past four seasons.
Fans in Colorado obviously were elated to see the two MVPs unite at center ice with the hardware front and center.
"Love this so much! LFG Denver," one X user posted.
Another X account added, "The dynamic duo of MacKinnon and Jokic is unstoppable! MVPs all around!."
Things are at an all-time high in Denver, as both the Avalanche and Nuggets remain title contenders. The Avalanche have the fifth-best odds to win the Stanley Cup, while the Nuggets also have the fifth-best odds in the NBA to do the same.
The Mile High City has quickly become a sports mecca, now if only the Denver Broncos or Colorado Rockies could catch up to the others!
