Celine Dion To Make Comeback Performance At Olympics Opening Ceremony

Beloved Canadian singer Celine Dion, most widely known for the theme to the Titanic movie, is ready to belt out another tune after some health issues. Dion is indeed rumored to be on the stage for the opening ceremonies at the Paris Olympics.

Per Variety:

"It will mark the pop legend's first performance since halting her touring schedule and stepping away from the spotlight after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

"Dion arrived in Paris on Monday at the Royal Monceau hotel near the Champs-Élysées, where Lady Gaga, another potential opening ceremony headliner, is also staying. Specific details about Dion's performance are being kept under wraps."

Dion was last seen in action during a Boston Bruins game in March, when she was caught on video rocking out.

It was a fairly heartwarming moment, given that Dion has been open about her struggles with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare disease that causes muscles to stiffen uncontrollably. She announced that she was battling the ailment in 2022 and has been forced to cancel tour dates because of it. But the Olympics seem to be doable today, thankfully.

Clearly, though, she wasn't going to allow anything to keep her from playing a little air guitar when the inspiration arose. Maybe she will do it again at the Olympics.

"Thank you for getting ready for me tonight," she said to one shirtless player. Shortly thereafter, she broke out into a brief song, only jokingly, but also revealing her voice was as amazing as ever.

Now, she will get to put it on full display at an ever-bigger sporting event, and you can be sure the Olympics crowd will be cheering her on.
