Jake Paul Announces He Will Attempt To Win A Gold Medal For Team USA At The 2028 Olympics

Jake Paul, who used to be known as a YouTube star, has actually found recent success as a professional boxer, so evidently he wants to use his talent to help win the United States a medal.

While talking on his podcast "BS W/ Jake Paul" Friday, the 27-year-old said he is planning to compete at the 2028 Olympics, which will be held where he currently resides in Los Angeles.

"I'm going to enter the 2028 Olympics for boxing in Los Angeles," Paul said. "I'm sick and tired of waiting around, waiting for another gold for Team USA."

The professional boxer seemed excited about the thought of fighting for his home country, while in the city he lives.

"Los Angeles, United States. Sick as f***."

With this in mind, certainly he will still have to qualify first, but it's now in the realm of possibility, especially since the Olympics updated their rules and regulations, allowing professional boxers to fight alongside amateurs ever since the 2016 Games in Rio.

To note, in 11 professional fights so far, Paul currently has a 10-1 record with 7 knockouts. Most recently, he won by TKO over bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry back on June 20.

Notably, his next match will be against Mike Tyson, which is scheduled for November 15. If Paul becomes an Olympic athlete and wins a medal, his critics, who say he only challenges older opponents, will certainly have to stop doubting "the Problem Child."

He certainly has his eyes on the prize, as he looks to be serious in his quest for winning America a boxing medal. To point out, the gold medal drought has continued now for two decades, as the last boxer to be crowned Olympic champion was Andre Ward in the 2004 Athens Games.

Paul emphasized, "Gold medal, you're mine, brother."
