The Norwegian star won his 10th career Olympic gold medal Wednesday at the Milan Cortina Games, taking the men's team sprint alongside Einar Hedegart and setting another record in the process.

At 29, Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo is now just the second Olympian ever to reach double digit golds, joining Michael Phelps. Phelps won 23 gold medals across four Summer Games. Klaebo has done his damage on snow.

The Norwegian duo clocked 18:28.9 to edge the United States by 1.4 seconds. Americans Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher pushed hard but faded late as Klaebo closed it out on the final hill. Italy took bronze on home snow.

Klaebo has now won every race he has entered at these Games, including Sunday's relay that already broke a Winter Olympics record. He will go for a sixth gold Saturday in the 50-kilometer mass start. Only a handful of athletes in Olympic history have ever won six golds at a single Games.

"There are so many fast skiers and strong teams," Klaebo said. "That's what makes it rewarding."

The women's team sprint belonged to Sweden once again, with Jonna Sundling and Maja Dahlqvist taking gold. The United States finished fifth as Jessie Diggins set an early pace with Julia Kern.

There was also a moment only the Olympics could deliver. A dog wandered onto the course during the women's heats, ran alongside skiers near the finish, and soaked up cheers before officials escorted it away.

Even on a day filled with chaos, history still found Klaebo.
