It's been a nightmare week for Lindsey Vonn. And she's not done with the operating room just yet.

The three-time Olympic medalist posted a nearly two-minute video from her hospital bed Friday, updating fans after suffering a major tibia fracture in her left leg during the women's downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
"I'm finally feeling more like myself but I have a long, long way to go," Vonn said. "Tomorrow I'll have another surgery and hopefully that goes well."
Another surgery. That makes four since the crash.
Vonn went down just 13 seconds into her run after clipping a gate and was airlifted off the course in Cortina d'Ampezzo. She was transported to a hospital in Treviso, where doctors immediately went to work.
And that was after she had already ruptured her ACL in Switzerland just days before the Games.
Yes, she raced anyway.
The 41-year-old had come out of retirement in 2024 chasing one more Olympic moment. Instead, she's now facing a long recovery and more procedures ahead, with doctors still evaluating the full scope of the damage.
Her father has publicly suggested this should be the end.
Vonn? She isn't talking retirement. She's talking gratitude.
From her hospital bed, surrounded by flowers and stuffed animals, she thanked fans, medical staff and Team USA for lifting her spirits.
The comeback queen is down. But she's still fighting.
