Pop star Tate McRae and Team USA hockey hero Jack Hughes are officially a couple.

According to Us Weekly, the 22-year-old singer and the 24-year-old New Jersey Devils star have been quietly seeing each other since late last year.
"It's still new, but they are exclusively seeing each other," a source told the outlet.

And like a lot of modern relationships, this one reportedly started in the DMs. Hughes is said to have reached out to McRae on Instagram first, which kicked off the conversation that eventually turned into something more.
So far, it sounds like things are going well.
The insider says McRae thinks Hughes is "a really cool guy" and has enjoyed supporting him during his season, even showing up to games and cheering him on.
The two were first spotted together in December 2025 in New York City after McRae attended one of Hughes' games.
Since then, Hughes' profile has only grown.
The Devils star became a national name last month when he scored the overtime golden goal to beat Canada and deliver Team USA the Olympic gold medal. The moment instantly turned him into one of the biggest faces in American hockey.
Off the ice, the spotlight followed. Hughes made appearances on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon while celebrating the win.
Meanwhile, McRae wrapped her Miss Possessive Tour in late 2025.
With Hughes' season expected to end in mid-April, the couple could soon have more time together.
