2024 Paris Olympics: How To Watch The Opening Ceremony

Some games at the 2024 Paris Olympics will have already begun, but the majority of eyes across the world will be on the Opening Ceremony. And this year's has been called the largest in the history of the Games.

"The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 promises to be an unprecedented experience drawing on the natural light of the setting sun with all its nuances to illuminate the world's best athletes as they travel down the Seine, in the heart of the French capital," wrote the official website of the Olympic Games. "Paris 2024 chose this moment to synchronize the fall of dusk and the narration of the ceremony, offering an unforgettable spectacle, both by day and by night, for all spectators and television viewers, in harmony with nature and the outdoor environment."

As usual, this year's Olympics will be broadcast by NBC and its streaming services, such as Peacock and NBCOlympics.com. Here's how to watch:

  • Time: Noon ET | Date: Friday, July 26
  • Location: The Seine River and Trocadero in Paris
  • TV: NBC | Streaming: Peacock, NBCOlympics.com

Again, several events will have already started, such as rugby, when the ceremony is taking place. It will also be the first Opening Ceremony to take place outside a stadium.

Here is a look at what is scheduled for Saturday, the day after the Ceremony takes place:

  • Group A: Spain vs. Australia — 5 a.m.
  • Group B: Germany vs. Japan — 7 a.m.

Swimming Heats, 5 a.m.

  • Women's 100m Butterfly
  • Women's 400m Freestyle
  • Men's 100m Breaststroke
  • Men's 400m Freestyle
  • Women's 4x100m Freestyle Relay
  • Men's 4x100m Freestyle Relay

Volleyball: United States vs. Argentina (Prelim. Round, Pool C) — 3 p.m.
