Former champion appears to suffer an absolutely gruesome injury at ROH event

This injury didn't look good.

Former Ring of Honor World Tag Team champion Mark Briscoe appears to have suffered a dislocated elbow during his match on Friday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to fans in attendance.

One fan captured a photo of Briscoe being helped out of the ring by ROH referee Todd Sinclair early in his match against Hiromu Takahashi as part of the company's Global Wars tour, which also features wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Briscoe is one of the most decorated tag-team wrestlers in professional wrestling. Alongside his brother Jay, the duo was held the ROH World Tag Team titles eight times, the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team championship once (with Bully Ray), the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team titles twice (with Toru Yano) and the IWGP Tag Team championship once, as well as numerous other titles outside of Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

ROH and NJPW will hold their Global Wars pay-per-view live from the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois on Sunday, Oct. 15.
