This came out of nowhere.

On Friday, WWE announced that they had released Monday Night RAW star Austin Aries.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Austin Aries,” WWE said in their statement. “WWE wishes Aries the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Aries had been a competitor on Monday Night RAW’s cruiserweight division, and he had found himself without a direction following his feud with cruiserweight champion Neville. Aries is one of the most talented in-ring competitors for WWE, but it looks like the two sides may have had creative differences that led to the release.

Bo was born in Atlanta, GA, and has always been a savvy sports follower. He attended Georgia Tech and has previously worked with ESPN TrueHoop, HawksHoop, and the Georgia Tech Newsroom. He covers national college football for FanBuzz.
