WWE Raw Universal champion Brock Lesnar walked into Great Balls of Fire as champion and he left as champion after pinning the No. 1 contender Samoa Joe in what was a brutal brawl between the two beasts.

This was Lesnar’s first title defense since winning the WWE Raw Universal title from Goldberg at WrestleMania 33.

Although Lesnar ultimately walked out the victor after the referee counted 1-2-3, Samoa Joe came off looking like a million bucks as he showed he belonged with Lesnar and went right after the Beast early and often.

Still, Lesnar ultimately survived Samoa Joe’s onslaught and Suplex City continued to reign supreme at Great Balls of Fire.

It should be interesting to see where WWE goes from here with Lesnar and Joe, as both looked great in this match and both showed this story could realistically continue after their match Sunday night.
