Kim revealed the news at a recent Global Force Wrestling's "Impact Wrestling" taping this week.

"As noted, at last night's Impact Wrestling tapings, Gail Kim announced her plans to retire at the end of this year. This is not a storyline, as she has thought about retirement in the past and legitimately plans to retire at the end of the year."
Kim, now 40-years-old, has had an incredible career and it makes a lot of sense for her to hang up her boots at the end of the year.
Still, it is kind of sad that she won't get a final run in WWE, similar to Mickie James right now, but her best days were with Impact, so it does feel right for her to finish where she really made her name as one of the best women's wrestlers of her time.
It should be interesting to see if Kim finds her way to both the WWE Hall of Fame and Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame in the coming years. She was welcomed to the TNA Hall of Fame in 2016.
