WWE confirms plans for dream match between John Cena and Roman Reigns at upcoming PPV

The long anticipated match between two of WWE's franchise players will officially take place.

The long anticipated match between two of WWE's franchise players will reportedly be taking place very soon.

WWE announced that John Cena and Roman Reigns will make their match for the upcoming No Mercy pay-per-view official during tonight's episode of Monday Night RAW.

Last week, Cena called out Reigns after the two teased had previously potential feud on social media last month.

It's a feud that has seemed inevitable since Reigns' emergence as the obvious heir to Cena's throne as WWE's "top guy" for the future.

Still, despite the report from WWE's Twitter account, it doesn't guarantee that things will go as planned.

As Mike Rome mentioned, the two are expected to make the match official on RAW, which means it hasn't been confirmed as of yet.

It's puzzling that WWE would jump into a potential Cena-Reigns feud at a smaller pay-per-view like No Mercy instead of saving it for a bigger show. Perhaps something will happen during tonight's segment to derail those plans as was the case last week with the Miz and Samoa Joe's interruption during the Cena-Reigns standoff, which led to a tag-team match main event.

We'll just have to tune in to see what's actually in store for WWE's two top guys.
