It's been over a few months since it was first reported that former Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling stars Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis were WWE-bound.

It's now mid-June and the power couple hasn't appeared on WWE television as of yet, but a new report from PW Insider has a huge update as to when Bennett and Kanellis are going to debut and why they haven't thus far.
Via Still Real To Us:
"PWInsider is reporting that Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis signed a deal with WWE months ago, and original plans called for the duo to debut at NXT TakeOver: Orlando. However, there were no concrete storyline plans for their debut, so the idea was dropped."
"According to the report, both stars are set to debut this weekend at WWE live events. It's expected that they will join the SmackDown Live brand on Tuesday, and there's also speculation that both stars could be involved with the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday."
This is interesting on a multitude of levels. It confirms that Bennett and Kanellis were signed to WWE back when it was first reported, but that the couple was originally going to debut on NXT rather than the main roster.
Now, according to this report, not only are Bennett and Kanellis going straight to the main roster, but they're joining the Smackdown Live brand the Tuesday after Money in the Bank.
Bennett and Kanellis could help fill the void left behind by the departure of The Miz and Maryse, but that will take time. The blue brand is also pretty filled up now, too, with champions not even being booked on shows each week.
Still, it will be nice to have Kanellis back and it should be interesting to see how the WWE Universe reacts to their impending debut.
