Some relatively big news from the world of professional wrestling. Following a brief hiatus to film yet another installment in The Marine series, the WWE has announced that The Miz will return to Monday Night Raw.

The Miz, who absolutely elevated the Intercontinental title during his run, wasn't gone from the WWE long to film The Marine. Despite that, his short stint away from the hearts and minds of pro wrestling fans should result in a warm welcome when he returns next week.

It will be incredibly interesting to see what the creative team has in store for him. With plenty of things happening with the Royal Rumble looming, it wouldn't be shocking to speculate about a possible main event push for the veteran.

Over the course of the last two years or so, The Miz went from a solid all-around performer to arguably the top heel in the entire industry. The sort of heel that's almost generational in character development. In fact, The Miz was so good at being bad, much like some other terrific heels of the past, he began to get cheered.

That's all conjecture at this point. No matter what happens from here on out, Monday Night Raw is once again awesome.

Miz is a seven-time Intercontinental champion, four-time tag team champion. two-time United States champion and one-time WWE champion.
