Exclusive: Eric Bischoff Comments On Torrie Wilson's WWE Hall of Fame Induction

As officially announced by ESPN, but originally reported by WrestleVotes, former WWE diva Torrie Wilson is the latest inductee into the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame. Wilson began her pro wrestling career 20 years ago in 1999, filling the role of a valet for the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) promotion. Her initial affiliation with the infamous New World Order (nWo) faction led to more roles in WCW, including becoming a valet for Ric Flair's son, David Flair, as well as managing Billy Kidman and his "Filthy Animals" faction.

In an exclusive interview with Eric Bischoff, the former WCW President shared his thoughts on Wilson being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

"Torrie Wilson is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to work with in Sports Entertainment. She brought talent, a positive attitude, and tremendous work ethic and discipline with her each time she showed up to entertain fans. Very proud of her."

When WCW demised in 2001, Wilson drew the interest of WWE and moved over to work for Vince McMahon. During this time, Wilson was involved in more edgy angles, including working a storyline with Sable, being involved in an angle where her father "passed away" due to suffering a heart attack after a sexual relationship with Dawn Marie, and working as a villainous vixen in an alliance with Vince McMahon.

For a majority of the time Wilson worked in WWE, the company used her appearance in less of an athletic fashion, but more from a sexual approach to elicit more and retain current viewers. As a result, Wilson participated in gimmick matches such as Bra and Panties, Paddle on a Pole, and a Playboy Pillow Fight at WrestleMania 22. Wilson did have an opportunity to compete in the ring more in 2007, feuding with former WWE women's star Victoria throughout the year.

Wilson, however, did get a change to show her wrestling ability by making her return following a nine-year in-ring hiatus by participating in the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble. She also participated in the battle royal match at the all-women's Evolution pay per view.

Wilson joins a WWE Hall of Fame class that includes the D-Generation X faction of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and X-Pac, as well as "The Honky Tonk Man" Wayne Farris.
