After Cedric Alexander defeated Gran Metalik in the first match of the Cruiserweight championship tournament, Tyler Bate (the first-ever WWE United Kingdom champion) made his main roster debut on 205 Live.

Bate and TJP went at each other with a very technical sound opening few minutes.

TJP attacked Bate’s knee, and the former UK champ used some of that British Strong Style to counter the first-ever Cruiserweight Classic winner. TJP locked in the knee bar, but Bate got to the rope.

Bate spun TJP on his shoulders and called for the Tyler Driver 97, but TJP reversed into the knee bar. Bate rolled through for the two-count, got up and knocked his opponent to the ground before heading to the top rope. He missed the corkscrew dive and TJP locked in the knee bar, but Bate was able to get to the rope for the break.

Bate went for the Tyler Driver and TJP reversed to get the pinfall with a handful of tights.

At just 20 years old, Bate is one of the best young wrestlers in the world today. He held the UK title for just over 120 days before dropping the belt to Pete Dunne.
