Former champion backstage Tuesday night, could be set for main roster debut

WOAH!

Shortly before Smackdown Live was set to begin, as well as 205 Live shortly thereafter, the WWE released a video in which former United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate infers he's about to make his main roster debut.

The WWE sure knows how to use social media to get the Internet Wrestling Community all ready to go.

Bate claims that the new Cruiserweight general manager wanted him in the arena and ready to compete on Tuesday night.

Worth noting, at least traditionally, the cruiserweight folk do not wrestle on Smackdown, and this could totally be about 205 Live. That being said, even if it is only that, this is huge news for the struggling division, as Bate — still only 20 years old — is one of the best wrestlers on the planet, even at his young age. That would also mean we'd see him on the Monday nights as well, competing on the Raw brand, which 205 Live wrestlers have been known to do.

The WWE is expected to formally announce a new division general manager on Tuesday, as well.

If the Bate to main roster tease is real, as is the general manager announcement, it will be interesting to see if the WWE somehow wiggles both — even if only as acknowledgments — in the Smackdown Live broadcast. After all, both happenings would be huge deals.

Then again, that's purely speculation on this internet scribbler's behalf.
