Could the XFL be making its return?

It actually seems like a possibility.
Following rumors of chairman Vince McMahon considering bringing back his failed football league on Friday, a spokesperson for WWE issued a statement to Deadspin's David Bixenspan claiming McMahon was "personally funding a separate entity" from the wrestling promotion called "Alpha Entertainment," in which he hoped to "explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football."
On Friday, a Twitter user known as "@TheBradShepard" reported that McMahon was looking to bring back the XFL and was expected to make an official announcement on January 25, 2018.
Shepard also claimed to know WWE's plans for next year's Hall of Fame ceremony, which he reported was expected to be headlined by Goldberg:
For what it's worth, McMahon did hint at the possibility of an XFL revival during the league's ESPN "30 for 30" documentary earlier this year.
However, it's still crazy to think something that was such a public failure could make its return 17 years later, especially given how it was marketed as "no-holds-barred football" in relation the growing concerns about CTE and the increased knowledge about the disease.
Still, this is McMahon we're talking about and there's really nothing he could do that would be considered "surprising" at this point.
Also, other sports ventures? Could we finally see the XBA, XLB or XHL play out to fruition?
As a lifelong wrestling fan, I, for one, will definitely be in line for "Mr. McMahon's Wild Ride" regardless of how this plays out.
