Top international champion explains why he turned down WWE offer

Young people tend to change their mind.

Will Ospreay, one of the world's best wrestling talents, recently explained to Chris Jericho why he turned down an offer from the WWE.

This happened on the latest edition of Talk Is Jericho.

"As a kid, you always wanted a WrestleMania," Ospreay said. "It's always been in the back of my mind. But as I've grown up more, I don't do very well traveling as it is and those guys are wrestling on Christmas day. Christmas for me is family. I don't think I can do it. I think it would murder me."

"I had a phone call the other day about a contract. Thanks and everything. But I am over here being happy."

Basically, in its simplest form, Ospreay rejects WWE's schedule. Furthermore, considering himself a family man, he finds it absurd that he would have to theoretically perform on Christmas.

There are other interesting tidbits in the podcast (NSFW stuff about tentacle porn). Yet, the biggest take away here is that Ospreay's issues with the WWE do not seem like something that can be fixed. He's already an international star, in New Japan and elsewhere, so it isn't as if he is hurting for money.

Then again, he is also only 24. What his priorities are today might be different tomorrow. Young people tend to change their mind.
