Brock Lesnar (c) appeared in a segment with Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman

Paul Heyman cut a promo on Lesnar's three opponents at SummerSlam, tearing apart the idea that Lesnar could lose the title at SummerSlam. Heyman also discussed the idea yet again that if Lesnar does somehow lose, he will leave WWE. Joe made his way to the ring, making it clear he would rip the title from Lesnar's hands after he put him to sleep. Strowman then appeared, calling himself the last man standing, a callback to winning last week's Last Man Standing match against Reigns. That then brought out Reigns, who didn't come out in hopes of talking, spearing Joe immediately.

Strowman hit Reigns with a powerslam and security hit the ring before he could go toe-to-toe with Lesnar. Both guys leveled every security member, causing the Raw locker room to hit the ring and hold them back. Lesnar broke away briefly to attack Strowman, Strowman then broke away to attack Lesnar and that's how raw went off the air.

  • Akira Tozawa will defend his Cruiserweight championship at SummerSlam

Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan def. Miz & Miztourage by pinfall

During the commercial break, a six-man tag was made. Jordan got his moves in, connecting on a belly-to-belly suplex to all three opponents. Matt Hardy connected on the Twist of Fate and Jeff landed the Swanton Bomb for the pinfall on Bo Dallas.

Jason Jordan def. The Miz (w/ the Miztourage) by disqualification

Jason Jordan worked the Miz over in the ring, setting up for the win before the Miztourage attacked him from behind. The Hardy Boyz made the save and Jordan stood tall with the former tag champs.

Mickie James def. Emma by pinfall

Emma dominated from the opening bell, throwing Mickie James around the ring and attacking relentlessly. Despite her attack throughout the majority of the match, all it took was one spinning heel kick to knock down Emma for the pinfall.

Bray Wyatt def. Finn Balor by pinfall

Wyatt and Balor battled in a brutal bout where neither competitor really had the upper hand early on. Balor finally got going after hitting the Pele kick. Wyatt stopped him in his tracks with a crossbody, but Balor wouldn't be stopped, reversing the Sister Abigail into a standing Coup De Gra. Wyatt rolled out of the ring, where Balor connected on a dropkick into the barricade before rolling Wyatt into the ring for a Coup De Gra attempt from the top rope. Wyatt reversed, eventually hitting the Sister Abigail for the pinfall. After the match, Wyatt poured "blood" over Balor.

  • Emma was backstage complaining about not becoming the No. 1 contender for the Raw Women's title

NEW CHAMPION — Cruiserweight title match: Akira Tozawa (w/ Titus O'Neil) def. Neville (c) by pinfall

After being originally slated for SummerSlam, WWE inexplicably moved up the Cruiserweight championship match. Tozawa got the advantage early, connecting on a stiff jab to get the two count before the champ rolled out of the ring ahead of the commercial break. Back from the break, Neville was in control, targeting Tozawa's shoulder. Tozawa turned around the comeback, hitting a german suplex. Neville rolled out of the ring and Tozawa connected on two running dive attempts through the ropes. He set Neville up for the diving senton, but Neville got up just in time to reverse, connecting on a suplex from the top rope. Tozawa eventually worked his way back, narrowly avoiding the Red Arrow attempt and setting Neville up for the senton again, finally connecting for the pinfall and we got a new champion! The win ended Neville's 198-day reign as Cruiserweight champion.

  • Big Cass came out and cut a promo ahead of his SummerSlam match against Big Show, where Enzo Amore will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage. Enzo interrupted Cass, and Big Show joined to walk toward the ring. Cass knocked Enzo off the ring apron and Show started to attack Cass before Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked the 7-foot former champ from behind. They helped Cass slam his hand inside the shark cage and Cass stomped his arm.

Elias vs. R-Truth: No Contest

Elias attacked R-Truth before the match could even begin, laying him out with the Drift Away.

  • Balor and Wyatt attacked each other backstage.
  • The Hardyz had a backstage segment where Matt teases his broken or (WOKEN) self with Angle before Miz and the Miztourage interrupted. Miz was angry about being attacked by Brock Lesnar last week and Curtis Axel vs. Jason Jordan was made before Miz told Angele he wanted to face Jordan instead of Axel fighting. An official interrupted to say there was a backstage problem between Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt.

WWE Raw Women's Championship No. 1 Contender's Match: Sasha Banks def. Nia Jax by submission

Jax started off the bout, manhandling Banks around the ring. Banks attempted a dive onto Jax on the outside of the ring, but she was caught and viciously thrown into the barricade:

Jax hit two samoan drops, with Banks grabbing the bottom rope one the first pin attempt and rolling out of the ring on the second devastating blow. Banks worked over Jax in the corner with consecutive kicks before locking in a crossface on Jax. Jax reversed and attempted to slam Banks, before the Boss reversed into a tilt-a-whirl DDT and eventually the Banks Statement for the tapout.

  • Dean Ambrose hit the ring and called out Seth Rollins, looking for his former Shield member to fist bump him. They started shoving each other, brawling around the ring before Sheamus and Cesaro jumped them. The former Shield members eventually got the upper hand and chased the tag champs away from the ring. Kurt Angle showed up and made Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Ambrose & Rollins for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam.
