Alex Bowman Live Tweeted the Dover Race and Gained Some New Fans in the Process

After suffering a back injury in a sprint car race last week, Alex Bowman missed the first of a possible four races when the NASCAR Cup Series went to Dover Motor Speedway on Monday. He may not have been competing on the track, but that didn't stop the Hendrick Motorsports driver from getting into the mix on social media

Bowman had his phone and plenty of time to fire off some fun tweets throughout race weekend. He kicked things off on Saturday, weighing in Noah Gragson's newly-debuted bowl cut with a sweet and simple roast: "Buddy needs a life coach."

Once Monday rolled around, Bowman had some pretty solid race-day tweets, including one where he gave his brief take on the Ross Chastain vs. Kyle Larson incident.

During his little Twitter takeover, Bowman also made sure to interact with some of the fans, including one who was attempting to play armchair NASCAR driver.

Bowman's live tweeting earned him a decent amount of fan support, with some even suggesting that he join the Fox NASCAR commentary just like his teammate Chase Elliott did when he was out for six races recovering from his leg injury. Instead of taking the requests seriously, Bowman came back with an A+ reference.

"Please don't. I'm a keyboard warrior only," Bowman said, referring to Mike Joy's on-air comment back in March that called out critical NASCAR fans on social media. The 30-year-old driver used that same quip when he finally signed off from the Dover race.

In any case, Alex sure had plenty of great Twitter content for a guy who doesn't really seem to be a big fan of the whole social media thing. But, I guess boredom will do that to you. What Twitter fun does he have in store as the Cup Series heads to Kansas? I'm sure he'll think of something.
