According to a Monday announcement, Bestwick will serve as the lead voice for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli. He will call 12 events each for the TA/GT classes and CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. These events will take place at 10 road courses across North America.

Bestwick, who was part of the 2006 Emmy Award-winning team at NBC Sports, will kick off his new role on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 3:30 p.m. ET. He will provide live coverage as Trans Am Series drivers take part in a preseason test at Sebring International Raceway.

The New England native has worked on multiple platforms while calling motorsports events. This includes time on the Motor Racing Network, TBS, NBC, and ESPN.

He called races in both the Cup Series and Nationwide Series — now O'Reilly Auto Parts Series — and also served as a pit reporter at times. His career also includes time calling NTT IndyCar Series races for ABC/ESPN and Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) races for ESPN. He continues to serve as a lead announcer for Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Apart from racing, Bestwick has worked events in college football, Professional Bull Riders (PBR), and college basketball. He has called many high-profile events, including the US Open, Wimbledon, and the British Open.

"I've been a huge fan of Allen for years and I know he is going to bring a lot to Trans Am," said Trans Am President Andy Lally in a press release.

"Knowing how enthusiastic he is about this project and understanding his work ethic behind the scenes has me confident that he will inspire an already hardworking crew to create an awesome show for our Trans Am viewers."

Trans Am will provide more details about Bestwick's role and the streaming package for the 2026 season at a later date.
