According to an announcement on Thursday, Matt McCall will part ways with RFK Racing after the season finale at Phoenix Raceway. The team did not announce which crew chief will join forces with Keselowski in 2025.
"We want to thank Matt for his dedicated efforts over the last three seasons, his role in the success that we have had and we wish him well in future endeavors," RFK Racing said in a statement.
McCall joined RFK Racing in 2022 as Keselowski took on a driver-owner role. The veteran crew chief took over the No. 6 team after Luke Lambert parted ways with the organization and headed to JR Motorsports.
The first season of the Keselowski-McCall pairing was a struggle as the team went winless and failed to make the playoffs. The No. 6 group also received an L2-Level penalty for modifying a single-source part that took them further out of playoff contention.
The 2023 and '24 seasons included far more success. Keselowski went winless again in 2022 but made the playoffs on points. He reached the Round of 8.
This season, McCall and Keselowski celebrated their first win together. They captured the spring race at Darlington Raceway, punched their tickets to the playoffs, and posted nine top-five finishes in 35 races.
Before joining RFK Racing, McCall was a mainstay at Chip Ganassi Racing. He spent four seasons (2015-18) guiding Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 team, reaching the playoffs four times in the process.
Kurt Busch took over the No. 1 Chevrolet in 2019 while McCall remained in charge of the team. The duo celebrated three wins in three seasons. One of these wins was at Busch's home track, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, while another was at the now-inactive Kentucky Speedway.
The third win was the final race at Atlanta Motor Speedway before NASCAR reconfigured the track into a mini-superspeedway. This Atlanta win was also Chip Ganassi's last as a team owner before he sold his assets to Justin Marks and Trackhouse Racing.
