According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the "King of Beers" will join the NASCAR Hall of Fame driver for a series of Late Model races in 2024 and 2025. The first will be the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway on Nov. 23.
The red scheme featuring Budweiser logos will not be the only part of this partnership. The JR Motorsports Late Model entry will also feature the stylized No. 8 on the doors and roof, which Earnhardt showcased for several seasons.
JR Motorsports will celebrate this partnership as it did when Sun Drop returned to Earnhardt's car. The company will release a line of merchandise highlighting the Budweiser/Earnhardt partnership.
"It is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser, and the No.8," Earnhardt said in a statement. "Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number.
"We've always supported each other over the years. It's going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again."
Earnhardt achieved considerable success with the Budweiser scheme on his No. 8 Chevrolet. He first showcased the red and white scheme while running a partial Cup Series schedule in 1999 and then he used it as his primary look during full-time seasons in 2000-07.
Earnhardt won 17 Cup Series races with Budweiser as his primary partner at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. The majority of the wins featured the red and white scheme, but the No. 8 also had some special looks highlighting the MLB All-Star Game.
This run of success included five Talladega wins and a win in the 2004 Daytona 500.
"There are names that when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser, and Earnhardt," said Matt Davis, Vice-President of Partnerships at Anheuser-Busch, in a statement.
"This return to the racetrack alongside Dale with the Bud King of Beers paint scheme is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch's long and storied sports history."
The Budweiser logos have not been in NASCAR since Anheuser-Busch began highlighting Busch and Busch Light on Kevin Harvick's car in 2016. Now, they will return to racing with a 15-time Most Popular Driver.
