Carson Kvapil, who takes over the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro in 2025, provided some details during an offseason appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He told Kelly Crandall and Larry McReynolds that Andrew Overstreet would be his crew chief while Mardy Lindley would join Connor Zilisch on the No. 88 team.

"I think for me, it's a good fit," Kvapil said during his appearance. "Me and Andrew worked really well together last year, I felt like, and we had a pretty good deal going there."

Overstreet was not a full-time crew chief last season. He was atop the pit box for the No. 88 team, which only competed in 17 Xfinity Series races. Overstreet also served as the No. 1 team's crew chief for one race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Bubba Pollard both made one start while Connor Mosack made two. Zilisch made four starts and kicked off his JR Motorsports tenure by winning in his first start.

Kvapil worked with Overstreet the most. He made nine starts in the No. 88, starting with a fourth-place finish at Martinsville Speedway. His best finish in the No. 88 was a runner-up at Dover Motor Speedway.

While Overstreet guided an assortment of drivers, Lindley spent the last two seasons with one driver. He guided Sam Mayer on the No. 1 team in 2023-24 while only missing one race due to a suspension for an L1-level penalty.

Lindley and Mayer achieved significant success together. They celebrated seven wins in two seasons and reached the Championship 4 in 2023. Mayer finished third in his first playoff appearance.

Lindley was a crew chief in the Craftsman Truck Series before making the move to JR Motorsports. He spent three seasons guiding a wide variety of drivers. He celebrated six wins — one with Martin Truex Jr., one with Kyle Busch, and two with Corey Heim.
