The news surfaced via Sky Sports, which provides coverage of F1 events in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Apple TV broadcasts in the United States will provide both the Sky Sports feed and the in-house F1 feed.
This marks a major change in the United States. F1 coverage moved from ESPN to Apple TV as part of the new F1 media rights agreement. This deal includes select races airing in IMAX theaters across the United States.
The commentators for Sky Sports will include David Croft and Harry Benjamin. The presenters and reporters will include Simon Lazenby, Natalie Pinkham, Ted Kravitz, Rachel Brookes and Craig Slater.
The list of experts and analysts includes Martin Brundle, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Jacques Villeneuve, Naomi Schiff, Bernie Collins, Karun Chandhok, Jamie Chadwick, and Anthony Davidson. Collins, in particular, will provide information for viewers during practice and qualifying as he spends time on pit road wall.
Patrick had previously appeared in Sky Sports coverage while working as a pre-race analyst, which began with one of the North American races. F1 now competes on the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada; at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas; at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec; and on the streets of Miami Gardens, Florida.
Patrick has also contributed to coverage for both NACAR and IndyCar, two series in which she raced. She has worked with both NBC Sports and Fox Sports while previewing the prestigious Indianapolis 500.
She joined the Fox Sports booth in consecutive seasons while helping call races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. However, she has not been back in the Fox Sports booth since Kevin Harvick joined Mike Joy and Clint Bowyer on a full-time basis.
Patrick spent several years competing in both IndyCar and NASCAR. She made 116 starts in IndyCar while posting seven podium finishes and one win (Twin Ring Motegi Superspeedway in 2008). She made 191 Cup Series starts while posting seven top-10 finishes.
