Florence Motor Speedway, a paved 0.4-mile oval located minutes from Darlington Raceway, does not have any plans to host races in 2027. For now, the only remaining scheduled events are the the 2X Monster Trucks, the South Carolina 250, and the 34th Annual South Carolina 400.

"It comes with great sorrow to announce that Florence Motor Speedway will not be putting out a schedule for the upcoming 2027 season, and furthermore, there are no current plans for racing on the 4/10 mile oval in 2027," a post on the track's Facebook page read.

"Since taking over the reigns in 2020, we have tried everything in our power to keep soldiering on, but each season has been increasingly difficult. While there have been a plethora of struggles that we have encountered, we made it a mission to explore multiple options on how to face the adversity and somehow come out ahead.

"Unfortunately, we have now reached the point to where we feel we have exhausted all possible options and it no longer seems feasible to continue. This is a humbling sport as we all know and has been our only focus in life for so long. We must look ahead to days where we can hope to maintain some kind of normalcy with the everyday struggles that life manages to throw at one."

A track known for side-by-side racing, Florence Motor Speedway has hosted short track races since 1982. It has featured numerous active NASCAR drivers competing for wins in a variety of series, a list featuring Josh Berry, Carson Kvapil, and Kaden Honeycutt among others.

Steve Zacharias has owned and operated the facility since 2020 while welcoming multiple racing series. This includes the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. The CARS Tour also spent two seasons competing at the South Carolina short track.
