How to watch Xfinity 500 Cup race: Start time, TV info

The time has come to set the NASCAR Cup Series championship 4 lineup with the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway.

This Sunday afternoon race takes place at the .526-mile short track known for high-profile incidents involving such drivers as Joey Logano, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliott.

Cup teams have competed at Martinsville 151 times since 1949. Since 2020, this track has been the place where many drivers have kept their championship dreams alive with a clutch win.

Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Cup Series race information

Weather: The WeatherUnderground forecast calls for sunny skies, a high of 63 degrees, and no chance of rain at the start of the Cup Series elimination race.

Green flag time: Xfinity Rewards members and the Petty Family will give the command to fire engines at 1:54 p.m. ET. The starter will wave the green flag at 2:03 p.m. ET.

Starting lineup: Cup qualifying takes place Saturday at 2:05 p.m. ET.

Pre-race: The garage opens at 11 a.m. ET. Driver introductions will take place at 1:15 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage begins with "Countdown to Green" on NBC at 1:30 p.m. ET. Race coverage continues on NBC at 2 p.m. ET.

Pastor Tim Hunt of Rich Acres Christian Church will give the invocation at 1:46 p.m. ET. The Issacs will perform the national anthem at 1:47 p.m. ET.

Stages: The race will consist of three stages. The first stage ends at Lap 130. The second stage ends at Lap 260. The scheduled end of the race is Lap 500.

Playoff picture: Only one race remains in the Round of 8. Logano and Tyler Reddick have both secured spots in the Championship 4, leaving two to be determined at Martinsville.

Christopher Bell is 29 points above the cutline. William Byron is seven points above. Kyle Larson is the first driver below the cutline at minus-seven. The other drivers below the cutline are Hamlin (-18), Ryan Blaney (-38), and Elliott (-43).

Past winners: Multiple Cup Series drivers have celebrated wins at Martinsville, a track that has been on the schedule since 1949. Hamlin leads the group with five trips to victory lane (2008, 2009, 2010 sweep, and 2015). Martin Truex Jr. is second with three wins (2019, 2020, 2021).

William Byron (2022, 2024), Brad Keselowski (2017, 2019), and Busch (2016, 2017) all have two wins at the short track. The list of one-time winners includes Blaney (2024), Larson (2023), Bell (2022), Alex Bowman (2021), Elliott (2020), and Logano (2018).
