The NTT IndyCar Series team announced the news on Sunday evening with a statement. The team said that Reinbold passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. The team did not provide a cause of death and asked for privacy.
"Dennis was a proud son of Indianapolis," the team said. "He built a successful family of automobile dealerships across the state, and he loved the community of Indianapolis that gave him so much in return.
"That same devotion fueled his passion for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway — its history and the relentless pursuit of an Indy 500 win drove him every day.
"We can think of no better way to honor Dennis than to chase a victory in the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500. We ask race fans to join us in remembering the man, his passion for our sport, and the memories we shared."

Reinbold's team provided seats for numerous IndyCar racers over the years, most recently Conor Daly and Jack Harvey in May's Indianapolis 500.
The list of drivers to suit up for the longtime team owner also included Graham Rahal, Sarah Fisher, Ryan Briscoe, Sage Karam, Roger Yasukawa, Mike Conway, JR Hildebrand, Ana Beatriz, Buddy Lazier, Buddy Rice, Al Unser Jr., Ryan Hunter-Reay, and Townsend Bell among others.
This team won its first race in 2000 with Robbie Buhl at Walt Disney World Speedway, and its drivers successfully qualified for every Indianapolis 500 that it attempted.
"Dennis, what a pleasure it has been to be a part of your organization over the years," Daly posted on X. "The passion for (IndyCar) racing you had and the tremendous culture you built within the team is something to be extremely proud of.
"Can't thank you enough for the chance to compete at the front of the (Indy 500). Wish I could have got one for you this year. We will miss you, my friend. (RIP)."
The impact on the racing world did not end with the NTT IndyCar Series. Reinbold's team also competed in rallycross and the short-lived Nitrocross series.
The team achieved particular success in Nitrocross' second-tier series in 2021 while fielding an entry for Karam, who won five of the 10 rounds. Karam also swept the race weekends in Phoenix and Arizona.
