With 93 NASCAR Cup Series wins, four championships, and more than 20 years spent as a full-time driver, Jeff Gordon is serious when it comes to professional auto racing. That said, he has been known to pull a prank or two in his day. There was that time in 2013 where he pranked a used car salesperson with a crazy test drive. That one was staged. A year later, he pretended to be a fugitive cab driver and kidnapped an automotive journalist. That one was real.
Whether his pranks are real or staged, Gordon definitely goes all out with them. Back in 2016, to promote his debut on FOX Sports as a NASCAR broadcaster, Gordon staged a high-speed police chase through Los Angeles with members of the California Highway Patrol. It may look like a legit chase at first, but just wait until the very end.

It didn't take long for the stunt to go viral, and shortly after the video made its rounds on the internet, Gordon starred in a short behind-the-scenes video to show everyone how it all went down.
Jeff Gordon Police Chase: Behind-the-Scenes
Gordon may not have actually found himself in trouble with the law that day, but there was a time, a few years back, when the former Hendrick Motorsports driver did actually get pulled over for real. And, it was none other than Dale Earnhardt Jr. himself who helped get him out of a ticker.
"I got pulled over and I was on the phone with Dale [Earnhardt] Jr.," Gordon told the Florida-Times Union back in 2012. "I gave the officer the phone and he talked to Junior. I don't know if I was going to get a ticket or just a slap on the wrist, but after he talked to Junior, he let me go."
Imagine that!
