The championship-winning team announced the news on Jan. 7 with a press release and said that Bonsignore will take over the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for five races. The team did not reveal the Modified Tour champion's full schedule or his sponsors.
Bonsignore made his NASCAR debut last season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Inclement weather took away his opportunity to practice or qualify, but he still raced his way into the top five. Bonsignore ultimately finished 22nd after being collected in a 10-car incident.
"When we had the opportunity to work with the Joe Gibbs Racing team at New Hampshire last year, it was a perfect pairing," Bonsignore said in a statement.
"As soon as that weekend was over, we started looking at options to run a larger schedule in 2025 and it all came together. When you work with a team like JGR, you know you're going to have a car in contention to win every race you run. We're looking forward to having some fun and chasing trophies."
The New York native has shown an ability to deliver considerable success on a variety of tracks. He has 45 wins in 226 Modified Tour starts, as well as 169 top-10 finishes. He has won the championship four times since 2018. He hasn't finished worse than fourth in the championship standings since 2016.
Bonsignore will now try to add another win to Joe Gibbs Racing's resume as he makes up part of the All-Star lineup. JGR featured two All-Star cars last year — the No. 19 and No. 20. The No. 19 will continue to feature a rotating lineup of drivers.
Bonsignore is the first driver to join the lineup for 2025. JGR will reveal the rest of the drivers at a later date.
