According to a press release, veteran Travis Mack will join the organization to guide the No. 42 team. He joins Legacy MC after spending most of last season at Kaulig Racing. The Chevrolet team changed crew chiefs ahead of the playoff race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Mack now heads to Legacy Motor Club with 156 Cup Series races on his crew chief. He has celebrated one win in his career — Sonoma with Daniel Suarez in 2022 — and he has guided a variety of drivers to 11 top-five finishes and 31 top-10s.

Along with Cup experience, Mack spent 79 races as an Xfinity Series crew chief at JR Motorsports. He worked solely with Michael Annett and guided the veteran to a win at Daytona in 2019.
"I'm looking forward to helping Legacy Motor Club build something great," Mack said in a statement. "There are a lot of talented people here at Legacy MC.
"I worked with Jimmie (Johnson) at Hendrick Motorsports, and I know his work ethic and determination — so his vision for the Club is really exciting, and I'm ready to get to work."
Mack, who begins his new role immediately, will work alongside Ben Beshore, who took over as Erik Jones' crew chief after the fall race at Talladega Superspeedway.
The 2025 season will be pivotal for Nemechek, who joined Legacy Motor Club last season. The North Carolina native spent his rookie season with Front Row Motorsports in 2020 but decided to move back to the Truck Series in 2021 to rebuild his career.
This move paid dividends for Nemechek, who spent two seasons with Kyle Busch Motorsports and won seven races. He landed a full-time ride at Joe Gibbs Racing for 2023, and he capitalized on the opportunity by winning seven races and finishing fourth in the championship standings.
Nemechek returned to Cup last season and took over the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE. The organization as a whole struggled while making the transition from Chevrolet to Toyota on its own. Nemechek posted a career-high four top-10 finishes but ended the season 34th in the championship standings.
Nemechek will now return to Legacy Motor Club with more experience in the Gen 7 Toyota. He will join forces with a crew chief who has playoff experience as the entire organization continues pushing toward consistency.
