He's on the pole in Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It's the second time he's won the pole at Atlanta, and the 18th pole of his career.
Harvick blew through the 1.54 mile track in 29.118 seconds, which equals an average 190.398 MPH, edging out Ryan Newman, who posted a time of 189.870.

ESPN noted that This Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race will be the first that has its own aerodynamic rules, and cars will run with restricted horsepower. To that, Harvick said,
"The cars are going to be a handful. They always slide and move around here but it seems the falloff is going to be greater. The cars want a lot different setup than what they have had before just because there is not the downforce on the car that there was."
The race begins at 2:30 p.m. on Fox.
