Larson took care of business on Monday, Dec. 30. He outdueled James McFadden, who had won the previous two High Limit Racing features at Perth Motorplex. Larson won the $100,000 High Limit International. This was the highest-paying race in Australia's history.
McFadden scored $25,000 for his runner-up finish while Callum Williamson scored $12,500 for a third-place finish.

Larson did not cruise to victory in the sprint car race. Instead, he had to move through the field as the laps clicked down. He was behind McFadden and Williamson with 28 laps remaining in the race and then he moved into second place with 22 laps remaining.
McFadden remained in control of the race with 15 laps and 10 laps to go. However, Larson made his move on Lap 27 of 35. He passed McFadden to take the lead and then the two drivers continued to battle.
The California native ultimately clinched the win, his first on Australian soil, by an advantage of 3.148 seconds.
This win at Perth Motorplex marked a turnaround for Larson. He was in control of Sunday night's feature as the end of the race approached. However, he slid up into the outside wall and significantly damaged the rear end of his No. 1 machine. Larson had to take his damaged sprint car to the work area while McFadden took the lead and won the feature.
The 2021 Cup Series champions scored an international win, but he has no time to celebrate. He has to quickly make his way back to the United States for another busy week of racing.
Larson will join Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, and hundreds of other racers at the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They will compete in the Tulsa Shootout, which runs from Dec. 31 - Jan. 4.
According to FloRacing, Larson is entered in four divisions. This gives him four chances at the prestigious Golden Driller trophy. He won his first back in 2010 while competing in the Open Outlaw Kart division.
