The Lions scored 40 points for the fifth time this season, and they did so without committing a turnover. No other team in NFL history has ever scored at least 40 points and committed no turnovers this many times in a single season.

The first time the Lions achieved this feat was in Week 4 against the Seahawks. Jared Goff threw two interceptions while wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown threw one. Jahmyr Gibbs scored two rushing touchdowns as the Lions won 42-29.

The other 40-point wins without a turnover were against the Cowboys (47-9), Titans (52-14), and Jaguars (52-6). The Lions also scored 42 points against the Bills. This game did not count toward the historic stat due to a lost fumble.

The fascinating part about the Lions' 14th win this season is that it featured multiple record-setting moments. The scoreboard only provided one example.

The Lions also became the first team in NFL history to have two running backs and two wide receivers all top 1,000 scrimmage yards in a single season. This group includes St. Brown (1,192 yards), David Montgomery (1,116 yards), Gibbs (1,759 yards), and Jameson Williams (1,028 yards).

This group's production helped Jared Goff deliver a career-best season. He has thrown a career-high 36 touchdown passes in 16 games while completing a career-high 71.7% of his passes. Goff only needs to throw for 290 yards in the regular-season finale to surpass his career-high of 4,688 passing yards.

Of course, this finale will take place against the Lions' main competition in the NFC — the rival Vikings. Both teams are 14-2, so the winner of this NFC North battle will win the division.

The winner will also lock up the top seed in the NFC, which guarantees home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The loser will fall to the fifth seed and will spend the playoffs on the road.

"This is what you're in it for, man," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after beating the 49ers. "You couldn't write a better scenario. You couldn't come up with this.

"The fact that both teams are sitting at 14-2 and it's for the division and the No. 1 seed. It just doesn't get any better than this. This is fairytale stuff."
