The longtime comedian and actor was hospitalized in Lincoln, Nebraska last week. Doctors diagnosed him with appendicitis. He spent a couple of days in the hospital before heading home to recover.

"Getting a lot of messages so just to let ya know I'm all good," Larry posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "I had major stomach pain and turns out I had appendicitis. It was removed and after 2 days in the hospital I'm home and recovering.

"Pretty sore but vitals good, my butt looks fantastic and now just taking stool softeners which is giving me an urge to go to my mom's assisted living facility and play bingo with the gals. I appreciate all the nice notes.

"I don't know who ratted me out down there but this is the most press I've received since we announced lightning racers on Disney Jr coming in September! Love all ya'all."

Larry also sent another message of gratitude later in the day. He thanked everyone who had reached out about his hospitalization and called it humbling to have such great fans and friends.

Born Daniel Whitney, Larry the Cable Guy has spent decades performing stand-up comedy, touring the world, and also starring in numerous films and TV shows.

He became a household name when he joined Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White for the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, but this only continued his rise in the comedy scene.

He released several albums and specials over the years, which included 2001's Lord, I Apologize and 2005's The Right to Bare Arms. His most recent full special was Larry the Cable Guy: Remain Seated, which he released in 2020 through Comedy Dynamics.

As an actor, he has held multiple roles. The most popular of these is the tow truck, Mater, from the blockbuster franchise Cars. He is currently working on a new series with this character, Cars: Lightning Racers.
