Three NASCAR Legends Are Joining Tony Stewart's Racing Series

Tony Stewart's new racing series, Superstar Racing Experience, is really going to be putting the emphasis on superstar in 2023. Earlier this week, the folks over at SRX announced that the American stock car racing series, which debuted in 2021, will field three NASCAR legends this year: Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch.

The SRX season is a relatively short one, with the schedule only consisting of six races running from July 13 to August 17. Bowyer, who retired from full-time Cup Series racing following the 2020 season and currently works as a NASCAR analyst for Fox, will run in three of those races: the opener at Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut, the third race at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia on July 27, and finally in the SRX finale at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

"Clint is a blast to watch wheel a racecar, microphone or simply watching him hold court in the garage," SRX CEO Don Hawk said. "He was on our short list [of drivers] and I'm thankful he said, 'Yes.'"

Busch, who left Joe Gibbs Racing last after a successful 15-year stint and now competes for Richard Childress Racing, will race at Motor Mile and then at Berlin Raceway the following week in Michigan.

"I've been working with everyone at SRX trying to get one of their races on my schedule the last couple seasons and things didn't work out, so when they announced they were having weeknight races in close proximity to a couple races on the Cup schedule, SRX and I immediately got together to plan something for this year," Busch said. "I've won at Berlin in the Super Late Model and I really enjoy racing at these local short tracks across the country, so it'll be fun to go back and support those tracks and the great fan bases that they have."

As for Harvick, he's clearly trying to make the most of his final year as a full-time racer, having recently announced that he would retire from NASCAR at the end of the 2023 season. The 2014 Cup Series champion will run in the races at Stafford and Berlin.
