Keselowski posted a photo on Nov. 6 showing him standing between two Dodge Charger Cup Series cars. These were not any old cars as they featured blue and gold Miller Lite schemes. As the driver-owner revealed, he had obtained these cars from Team Penske.

One car had ended up in victory lane at Talladega Superspeedway during the 2012 season. The other had ended up in victory lane at Dover Motor Speedway. Both cars played significant roles in Keselowski's championship season.
The Talladega car is one that Keselowski used to lead 10 laps during the 2012 spring race. He had started 13th in the superspeedway race and then taken control late in the race. He then led the final two laps of the race after taking the lead from Matt Kenseth. Keselowski scored his second career Cup win at the Alabama track and then went on to win four more times there.
The Talladega win marked Keselowski's second trip to victory lane during the 2012 season. He then added wins at Kentucky Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway. His fifth and final win that season took place at Dover Motor Speedway.

The 2012 AAA 400 at Dover marked an important race in the championship battle. Keselowski started 10th, and he led 14 total laps. This includes the final 10 laps of the race as he held off fellow playoff driver Jeff Gordon, who ultimately ended the season 10th in the championship standings.
More importantly, Keselowski beat Jimmie Johnson, who finished fourth that day at Dover. The Hendrick Motorsports driver entered the race second in the Cup Series standings, so Keselowski needed a strong performance to stay ahead of him as the end of the season approached. He achieved this goal while scoring six more points than Johnson.
Keselowski didn't win another race for the rest of the 2012 season, but he scored enough points to win the championship for the first time in his career. He ended the year 39 points ahead of Clint Bowyer and 40 points ahead of Johnson.
