Spire Motorsports announced the news on Feb. 5, less than 24 hours after Hocevar finished 15th in the 2026 Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. The team did not provide the exact number of years. However, the deal is expected to last through the 2031 season.

The deal taking Hocevar into the next decade also includes starts for Spire Motorsports in multiple other series.

According to Spire Motorsports, Hocevar will make the maximum number of allowed starts for Spire Motorsports in the Craftsman Truck Series while helping the team pursue an owner's title. He will also drive for the team in Late Model competition.

Hocevar has been a key member of the lineup since the 2024 season, his rookie year in Cup. He has posted three top-five finishes, 15 top-10s, and one start from the pole. He has led 138 laps and contended for multiple wins. His best finishes at NASCAR's top level are second place at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta) and Nashville Superspeedway.

"It's a pretty big moment for our company to announce an extension with Carson (Hocevar) that takes us out for multiple years," said Spire Motorsports Co-Owner Jeff Dickerson. "It's not just about knowing he'll be here with us for the long-haul, but it gives our sponsors and competition group the foresight to make their own plans knowing he's in the seat of the No. 77 as far as we can see.

"It has been an absolutely rewarding experience getting to know Carson and watching him grow up, and learn from the good and bad both at and away from the racetrack. I love him like a son and it means a great deal to me, personally, knowing he'll be here for several years.

"I expect this announcement could test the effectiveness of my blood pressure medication, so I've alerted my physician he may have to adjust the dosage appropriately but, it'll be worth it."
