23XI Racing announced on Friday that Heim, the team's first development driver, will take on several Cup Series races this season. His first will be the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 15, provided he beats out several other drivers in Open entries to claim one of the four available spots.

Heim will then fill out his Cup Series schedule with 11 events split between superspeedways and more traditional ovals. Though he will also compete in a historic street course race.

Bootie Barker, a veteran crew chief who guided Bubba Wallace to two wins, will lead the No. 67 team. He previously worked with Heim in four Cup Series races.

Heim will not compete full time in any of the national NASCAR series. Instead, he will bounce around while suiting up for multiple teams. This includes making at least one Truck Series start with Tricon Garage.

23XI Racing also noted that the team will continue to look for additional opportunities for Heim if circumstances align.

Heim's 2026 Cup Series schedule

  • Daytona 500 (Feb. 15)
  • Kansas Speedway (Apr. 19)
  • Texas Motor Speedway (May 3)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 24)
  • Nashville Superspeedway (May 31)
  • San Diego (June 21)
  • Chicagoland Speedway (July 5)
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 26)
  • Daytona International Speedway (Aug. 29)
  • Darlington Raceway (Sept. 6)
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway (Oct. 11)
  • Homestead-Miami Speedway (Nov. 8)

The intriguing part of this schedule is that Heim will compete in all four of NASCAR's crown jewel races. He will take on the Daytona 500, the Coca-Cola 600, the Brickyard 400, and the Southern 500.

"We know the future is really bright for Corey, and we're working with him to ensure that he is as prepared as possible when his time comes to race full time," said Denny Hamlin, co-owner of 23XI Racing.

"We're continuing to stick to our plan and taking a long-term approach, while also remaining focused on what is collectively best for our organization and our partners as we look to continue being a competitive, winning organization each weekend."
