On Sunday, Pollex passed away after her nine-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Truex Jr. and Pollex had been together for 17 years before separating at the beginning of 2023. Truex Jr. released a statement on Sunday reacting to the news of Pollex's passing.

This was not taken well at all by Patrick. She went on Instagram Monday morning and posted her thoughts of Truex Jr's statement on her Instagram story. Patrick leads off by saying, "I avoid negativity on social at almost all costs. Almost..."

This is clearly one of those times where she embraces the negative side of things on social media as she goes on to write a narrative about how insensitive it is of Truex and how disingenuous the statement is.

"This is the most insensitive disconnected statement from a guy that I have never liked," Patrick wrote.

"I don't care what happened between them but this is as cold as it gets. A PR rep wrote this guaranteed. You're free from this now Sherry."

There are many comments from people on social media expressing their opinions on the situation. Patrick's statement leads people to think about whether this was the right time or place to say something like she did.

There is no real track record that would have led anyone to believe that there were any issues between Truex Jr. and Patrick. They raced in the NASCAR Cup Series together from Patrick's debut in the 2012 Daytona 500 all the way through to her final start in the 2018 Daytona 500.

Did it appear they were best friends? No. But it is hard to say that they had some mutual hatred for each other. According to Patrick, she has never liked Truex Jr. and she made that clear in her Instagram post.

Danica Patrick did call out Martin Truex Jr., but now the debate is if that was the right thing to do considering the circumstances surrounding it.
