Spire Motorsports driver Daniel Suarez and wife Julia Piquet have celebrated a major moment in their marriage. They have welcomed their first child together.

The happy couple announced the news on Tuesday afternoon with a post across social media platforms. They shared two photos showing the newborn, Otto Suarez Piquet.

The two first announced that they were expecting during the spring off-week. They posted photos from a trip to Greece and revealed their "mom" and "dad" hats.
They have since spent the back half of the NASCAR season preparing for the birth of their first child and figuring out the best way to handle the schedule. Suarez even took a tour of the hospital so that he would know exactly where to go when Julia went into labor.
The biggest question amid the preparation was simple. Would Suarez miss a race of the Chase to be present for the birth? While he wanted a "Monday through Friday" baby, he knew that the timeline remained out of his control.
The couple indicated that Suarez would race. After all, he had secured a spot in the Chase by running consistently and also winning the Coca-Cola 600. He had an opportunity to compete for a championship.
Last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, Suarez reiterated that he would race if Julia went into labor during the race weekend. This remained a possibility after they passed the due date.
"Listen, especially here in Bristol, the window is like if I miss the baby — I'm with Julia 90% of the time," Suarez told media members. "So if I miss the baby, is the baby trying to tell me something (laughs)?
"So who knows what is gonna happen, but I'm going, I'm coming back home here in a little bit, and hopefully, you know, everything goes smooth. Hopefully, the baby doesn't come until Sunday or Monday. I think it's gonna come very soon."
The timeline worked out for Suarez and Julia. He completed the Bristol Night Race on Saturday, Sept. 19. He then returned home and made it in time for the birth of Otto.
