According to Wednesday posts on social media, Burton will finish out the 2025 Xfinity Series season in the No. 25 Ford Mustang. He will not return in 2026 as AM Racing turns to a new driver. This announcement will take place at a later date.
"The organization thanks Harrison and the Burton family for their professionalism and contributions on and off the track, and wishes them continued success in Harrison's future endeavors," the team said on Wednesday. "AM Racing will share additional updates regarding 2026 driver and program plans at a later date."
Burton joined AM Racing for 2025 as he moved back from the Cup Series to the Xfinity Series. He helped rebuild the program after it underwent significant changes, and he put the No. 25 Ford into contention on a regular basis.
"I want to thank AM Racing, Tim Self (owner), and Wade Moore (team president) for the opportunity and trust at a pivotal moment in my career after I lost my Cup seat entering 2025," Burton said. "From day one, the group's commitment and preparation helped us deliver tangible progress."
Burton kicked off the season with a pair of top-10 finishes while putting the No. 25 team inside the top 10 in points. The team dealt with a mechanical failure at Circuit of the Americas, but it went on to run consistently throughout the regular season.
Burton posted 15 top-15 finishes in the 26-race regular season. He scored nine top-10 finishes and two top-fives while making the playoffs on points. He failed to advance beyond the first round due to an issue at the Charlotte Roval that sent him behind the wall for repairs, but he finished the race.
Burton only has one DNF this season and an average finish of 14.8. AM Racing had seven DNFs last season with a variety of drivers behind the wheel.
"I'm proud of how we show up each week, compete at the highest level, and finish strong," Burton continued. I'm also grateful for the people who made this possible: our crew members, engineers, office staff, partners, and the fans who have our backs everywhere we race.
"This season reminded me why I love competing; the teamwork, the focus, and the fight. I'm super excited about the next chapter and will announce my plans at a future date."
