According to the NASCAR roster sheets for Bristol Motor Speedway, the majority of the No. 77 Spire Motorsports crew will move over to the No. 48 team. Hendrick Motorsports supplies the pit crews for the Spire Motorsports teams.
The No. 48 team will now feature front changer Daniel Bach, tire carrier Jarius Morehead, rear changer Rod Cox, and jackman Cody French. Fueler Jacob Conley will continue to work on the No. 48 team.
The other four crew members from Bowman's crew will move over to Carson Hocevar's team as part of this swap. This includes jackman Allen Holman, tire carrier Brandon Grier, front changer Donnie Tasser, and rear changer Andrew Bridgeforth. They will join fueler Anthony Pasut.
According to IMSA crew member/motorsports writer Bozi Tatarevic, the No. 77 crew turned in the third-fastest average pit stop time in last weekend's race at World Wide Technology Raceway. This crew averaged 10.01 seconds on their stops, placing only behind the No. 23 crew (9.89 seconds) and the No. 22 crew (9.90 seconds).
Bowman's crew, for comparison, ranked 28th with an average time of 17.49 seconds. A key factor in this ranking was a very slow stop late in stage 2 in which the jackman dropped the No. 48 before the rear changer installed one of the rear tires. The crew had to jack the car up once again, which caused Bowman to lose 20 positions.
This trip to Gateway marked the second consecutive playoff race featuring a pit road problem. Bowman's crew also turned in a 40-second stop during the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway due to a disconnected air hose.

Bowman is now 35 points below the Round of 12 cutline heading to Saturday night's elimination race at Bristol Motor Speedway. He is on the border of a must-win situation, and he can not afford any more setbacks on pit road.
Questions of a swap surfaced after Bowman finished 26th at World Wide Technology Raceway. According to Racer's Kelly Crandall, Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman Jeff Gordon said "we'll see" when asked about potential moves on the pit crews.
