Scott Dixon, who had earlier in the day won the pole position at the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500, was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night at a fast food restaurant just a half mile from the famous track.

Former Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti, and Dixon's wife was in the car when the incident happened, according to WXIN in Indianapolis. Two suspects, both juveniles, have been arrested in the case.

WXIN, quoting a police report, said Dixon, his wife and Franchitti were in the drive through lane just before 10 p.m.when the robbery occurred. The suepects fled on foot but were later apprehended. Dixon was driving a vehicle owned by the Honda Motor Corporation, which is primary sponsor for the race.
Dixon won the pole with a qualifying average of 232.164 MPH, the fastest since Arie Luyendyk in 1996.
It's the second robbery of a high-profile athlete in the last week. Patrick Mahomes II was one of four people who reported they were robbed at gunpoint last, and authorities have arrested two suspects, according to KLTV. in Tyler, Texas.
